About Me

Hello, I’m Adenike Jacobs, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist dedicated to helping individuals, families, and communities heal with compassion, clarity, and cultural understanding. My work is grounded in the belief that healing is possible for everyone, and that therapy should feel like a safe space not a judgment zone.

My Clinical Background

I bring years of experience across correctional mental health, addiction treatment, community behavioral health, and private practice settings. I’m trained in trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and relational approaches that help clients understand themselves, build healthier patterns, and move toward the lives they want.

My Story
My journey into therapy has been shaped by real people, real environments, and real stories. I began my career in the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, supporting incarcerated individuals through trauma, grief, and mental health challenges. That experience taught me the importance of empathy, emotional safety, and meeting people exactly where they are.

I later transitioned into addiction and mental health therapy at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, where I provided structured, evidence-based care for clients navigating recovery, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Over time, I expanded into private practice, bringing together everything I’ve learned across correctional, clinical, and community settings.

Today, I proudly serve clients in both Maryland and Pennsylvania, offering telehealth care with a focus on accessibility, quality, and cultural relevance.

My Treatment Philosophy

I believe therapy should be:

  • Collaborative — We work together as a team.

  • Culturally aware — Your identity, lived experiences, and environment matter.

  • Evidence-based — I use approaches that actually work.

  • Real and relatable — No judgment. No cold clinical spaces. Just genuine connection.

My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported as you move through healing, growth, and change.
